Indigenous Issues
Indigenous members of the union work together to strengthen the labour movement’s commitment to Indigenous Peoples’ rights through research, education and advocacy. You can read more about the PSAC’s mandate on Indigenous issues on the PSAC national website.
The National Indigenous Peoples’ Circle (NIPC) was created in 2003 to give Indigenous members the opportunity to come together and discuss issues that affect them in the workplace, in their communities and at national and international levels.
NIPC provides direction to the National Board of Directors for action on the objectives and broad priorities of the Circle. This direction is set by NIPC delegates at the National Equity Conferences every 3 years & by resolutions to the PSAC National Triennial Convention.
Your PSAC Atlantic NIPC Representatives are:
Angela Decker, National Indigenous Peoples’ Circle Women’s Representative and PSAC Atlantic Regional Council Indigenous Director
