BRIDGEWATER, NS – A tentative agreement was reached on July 26 between members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada and the South Shore Transition House Association (Harbour House). The tentative agreement was subsequently ratified by the members on August 10th.
Members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada employed by Harbour House, a transition house that provides temporary housing for women and their children who are victims of abuse had been bargaining for over eighteen (18) months until they reached this agreement.
Bailee Skinner, President of PSAC Local 80030, had the following to say about the agreement: ‘We believe this agreement reflects the core principle of the transition house and values the work done by our members. The agreement is positive for both parties and we look forward to continuing serving members of the community who need our assistance.’
“Harbour House management and its Board of Directors are pleased that the parties were able to collaborate to reach an agreement. We look forward to continuing to work together with the employees to provide the essential and impactful services that we offer to the community. We believe in a healthy and supportive work environment for our team, so that we can best help those who need our supports and services.” – Jennifer Gagnon, Executive Director, South Shore Transition House Association
