Public Service Alliance of Canada Atlantic members joined the Canada Employment and Immigration Union National Women’s Committee in a rally outside the Mellor avenue Service Canada office in Dartmouth, N.S. We were lucky to have CEIU national president Eddy Bourque, PSAC national executive vice-president Sharon DeSousa, CEIU national executive vice-president Crystal Warner, and national vice-president, Nova Scotia – Newfoundland and Labrador Debbie Morris, speak to members at the rally!
These workers are the engine powering our government services. They ensure that government departments and programs operate as effectively and efficiently as possible and they have been doing this throughout the pandemic. These workers deserve a fair contract.
The government needs to recognize the work these members do day in and day out, with improvements to work-life balance, leave and wages that will allow them to continue to be there for Canadians. Our bargaining teams will continue to push back against concessions and fight for a fair contract that improves members’ working conditions and reflects the future of work in the federal public service. We will continue to rally and organize in support of these workers!
