NS – Anti-Harassment and Respectful Workplaces (Halifax) – November 7-8, 2026

This course will look at power relationships and how they affect the workplace. Participants will identify elements that make up a respectful workplace and discuss what is needed in order to establish and maintain a more respectful workplace. They will also define harassment and bullying and their impact at work, and look at policies, processes and the legal framework that governs harassment in the workplace. Finally, participants will study measures for preventing workplace harassment as well as formal and informal recourse routes.
It is recommended that members take Talking Union Basics first, as it provides the basic knowledge you need to get the most from other PSAC courses.
Dates: November 7-8, 2026 (2 days)
Time: 9:00am to 5:00pm
Location: 172 Garland Avenue Dartmouth, NS B3B 0P7 (PSAC Regional Office)
Participants are entitled to a $50.00 per diem upon completion of the course.
Mileage is paid at PSAC rates for travel over 40 kilometers one way. All travel must be pre-approved by the Halifax Regional Office.
Loss of salary (where applicable) will be reimbursed. Members who work weekends or evenings must provide a shift schedule.
Family care will be reimbursed as per the PSAC policy on family care.
