Union unveils advertising campaign in New Brunswick against the cuts to employment insurance
FREDERICTON, NB – Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) members have been organizing various activities on the 19th of every month in order to raise awareness of the upcoming federal election and the need to have a government that stands up for Canadians and the services they depend on. They are continuing their efforts and will unveil an advertising campaign in New Brunswick to reverse the cuts to Employment Insurance.
“Members of the Canada Employment and Immigration Union (CEIU) are the frontline employees who deliver services to EI recipients – they see on a daily basis the negative impacts of the cuts made to EI. We are proud to launch an advertising campaign in New Brunswick targeting three vulnerable Conservative MP’s.’’ said Steve McCuaig, National President of CEIU. He also adds: “These ads will serve as a reminder to the general public of the ideological cuts made to essential programs such as EI. Conservative MP’s are guilty of giving out tax breaks to corporations and the wealthy while cutting essential services to Canadians at times when the y need it most. We need a new government in place that wants to not only protect, but strengthen public services that Canadians need and count on.’’
WHEN: Wednesday, November 19th at 12:19 p.m. for 19 minutes
