Report of the Provincial Director for Nova Scotia, Chris Di Liberatore, February 2013 – September 2013

Since the last Atlantic Council meeting in February, 2013 I have attended the events listed below in my role of Provincial Director for Nova Scotia. In addition to this I have maintained my position of President, Nova Scotia Area Council 1, Vice President, UTE Local 80003, and President’s Representative for Tax Services Offices on the UTE’s National Staffing Committee.
    •    Attended the Atlantic Council meetings From February 8 to 10, 2013
    •    Attended Pre-Budget Consultation Town Hall meeting held by MP Robert Chisholm (NDP Dartmouth-Cole Harbour) as spokesperson for PSAC.
    •    Lobbied, through e-mail, Members of Parliament with respect to Bill C-45, C-377, “Pay in Arrears”.
    •    Organized and attended 4 Area Council Meetings
    •    Attended the Budget Watch and spoke on behalf of the PSAC at the Budget Watch event in Halifax, NS.
    •    Attended the CLC Political Action Conference March 22-24, 2013
    •    Attended PSAC Leadership Training April 10, 2013
    •    Attended PSAC OSH Conference April 12-14, 2013
    •    Attended the Day of Mourning Ceremonies in Halifax, NS and laid a Wreath on behalf of The PSAC.
    •    Attended the UTE Mental Health Conference May 2 to 5, 2013
    •    Attended UTE National Staffing Committee Meetings May 6 to 9, 2013
    •    Participated in conference call May 9, 2013 to select candidate for the Breaking the Silence Tour in Guatemala.
    •    Participated in Teleconference with PSAC Atlantic Health and Safety Committee June 12, 2013.
    •    Attended UTE Inter regional Conference June 14 to 16, 2013.
    •    Attended and Marched in the Halifax Pride parade July 27, 2013
    •    Participated in Atlantic Council Teleconference August 20, 2013
    •    Attended meet and greet with Thomas Mulcair at Alderney landing in Dartmouth, NS August 26, 2013
    •    Attended the Labour Day March and Picnic September 2, 2013. Discussed Provincial NDP use of “Final Offer Selection” in Arbitration with Paramedics in NS with Premier Darryl Dexter at the Picnic.
