At a series of ratification meetings held May 26 and 28, members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) employed by Serco at 5 Wing Goose Bay ratified their tentative agreement.

PSAC Members Ratify Tentative Agreement with Serco

HAPPY VALLEY GOOSE BAY, NL – At a series of ratification meetings held May 26 and 28, members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) employed by Serco at 5 Wing Goose Bay ratified their tentative agreement.

The new agreement will be valid until March 31, 2024 and includes consecutive wage increases over the next five years, improvements to medical travel leave and important gains in regard to harassment and discrimination and domestic violence leave provisions.

Jonathan Cull, local president, explains how they achieved this agreement: ‘We were able to obtain this collective agreement because of the resilience and determination of our members. We are also fortunate that we are able to count on community support. We will continue to protect good jobs in our community of Happy Valley Goose Bay, we owe it to our community and to the generations to come.’

Local 90125 represents over 240 members that are employed by Serco at CFB Goose Bay. These members ensure the maintenance and operation requirements of the base infrastructure and airfield which includes providing engineering services. Such tasks include snow removal, maintenance of all equipment including loaders, snow blowers, plows, hangar doors, computers and telecommunication equipment, maintain the steam, water, sewer and electrical utilities on the base. Other positions include finance, customer service center, cleaning, etc.
