Together, PSAC women will continue to find ways to not only defend their rights but to challenge inequality and ensure all women and men benefit equally from better working conditions, better work/life balance and full respect for their human rights. 

Here are some events that PEI members can come to show support:

Islanders are encouraged to recognize International Women’s Day March 8, 2020 by acknowledging the outstanding contributions of women the world over and celebrating those who are advancing gender equality.

Because of You

This 2020 theme celebrates activists, advocates and other change makers, across generations past and present, who are advancing gender equality and the rights of women. Use the hashtag #BecauseOfYou to name, honour and celebrate women in your life and communities whose work and impact inspires you.

Event Details

The celebration in Charlottetown is organized and hosted by network of organizations that support women’s rights and advance gender equality. Come join in singing, music and movement, and hear speakers reflecting on the diverse experiences as women.

Refreshments provided and admission is free. All ages and genders welcome.

This is a wheelchair accessible space.

Join us to celebrate International Women’s Day with homemade beans & biscuits and live music, Friday, March 6, 5-7pm at the Haviland Club in Charlottetown.

Jillian Kilfoil, Executive Director from Women’s Network PEI will give an update on women’s issues in PEI, Jocelyn Reyome will provide musical entertainment, and Marian “Vanna” White will be holding a raffle.
There may even be some innovative buttons fresh off the button maker!

Suggested donation is $10.

Celebrate International Women’s day with the community of Prince Edward Island and 24strong! This is a very exciting event for us as we will be releasing our MUSIC VIDEO “Teamwork,” which features over 70 girls and women from across the Island. We will also be having a panel, featuring local women and their stories, sharing findings from research on teenage girls and their experiences / desires and of course celebrating sisterhood with snacks and good music!

Open to ALL!

Join us for a relaxed afternoon of self care! Denise Arsenault from Health Within will be leading us in an afternoon of guided meditation, chair yoga, and stress techniques to help ground us from our busy lives.

We will also be honoured to have Karen Forrest and her colleagues return to do some Angel Readings!

This event is free, but space is limited to 30. Please register by end of day on March 2, by phoning 902-892-8999.
