On June 7, 2022 PSAC members Kimberley Asling-Ings, PSAC Atlantic council provincial director – PE and treasurer for UVAE local 90001, and Michael Murphy, President GSU Local 90031, met with Liberal Member of Parliament for Malpeque, Heath MacDonald to discuss the concerns of more than 165,000 federal government employees currently at an impasse in negotiations with their employer. The meeting was a successful one where MP Heath MacDonald agreed to contact Treasury Board president Mona Fortier and urge her to come back to the bargaining table with an offer that improves wages and working conditions for federal government workers.
