Wayne Long
Member of Parliament
1 Market Square, Suite N306
Saint John, NB E2L 4Z6

Dear Mr. Long,

I’m writing to you in regard to Bill C-89, an Act to provide for the resumption and continuation of postal services.

It goes without saying that we were appalled by your government’s reaction to the labour dispute between Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW). We stand in solidarity with Canada Post workers and strongly condemns the federal government’s decision to enact back-to-work legislation.

Having said that, it’s important that we recognize the fact that you voted against your government’s Bill. We thank you for having demonstrated political courage by voting against this Bill. However, we certainly hope that you will be able to ensure that your government does not interfere even again in the process of collective bargaining.

Thank you, Wayne, for standing up on behalf of workers and our right to free collective bargaining.
