NS – Halifax Labour Day Rally, March and Picnic – September 7th

Labour Day in Canada was first officially recognized in 1894.  This stemmed from the 1872 Strikes where Toronto Printers marched for a nine-hour workday and the legal recognition of unions under the Trade Unions Act.  Labour Day celebrates workers across the country in thousands of communities across the country.

We are inviting you, all our members, and your families to attend a Labour Day event where you will find, activities for the kids, food, music, freebies, and comradery with your fellow workers.

Halifax Labour Day Rally, March and Picnic, September 7, 11:30am-3:00pm

11:00am rally at the Labour Board, Summit Place, 1601 Lower Water St, Halifax, followed by a march to Peace and Friendship Park, Hollis St, Halifax, where there will be food, drinks, entertainment, a bouncy castle and facepainting

Someone from PSAC Nova Scotia Area Council 1 will be at the Labour Board, Summit Place, 1601 Lower Water Street on Sept 7^th around 10:45 a.m. to welcome members who wish to participate in the March Please look for the PSAC Flag.  Or if you do not wish to march, come visit us at the Peace and Friendship Park (at the most southern end of Hollis Street) under the PSAC tent from 11:30 on wards.  If the tent is up, we are there.
