NL – Strike Readiness Summit

Let me be blunt: things are not going well for the members on the bargaining team.  The Treasury Board has made insulting offers at the bargaining table and continues to drag their feet.  It is time for you and all PSAC members in the treasury board bargaining units to take action! I know it’s not the news you want to hear, and it’s going to take time and commitment, but by working together, we can achieve fair contracts for all Treasury Board employees. 

That is why PSAC Atlantic is hosting Strike Readiness Summits across our region.

Summit attendees will be PSAC members working for Treasury Board, including National Officers, activists, and representatives from each treasury board local in the region.

The goal of these summits is to equip you with the knowledge and skills to support your coworkers in the lead up to and during a strike.  The summit will include an overview of bargaining and the big picture of a labour action.  Then you will dive into the details of a strike, including running a picket line, strike pay, essential service agreements, and mobilizing members.  The summits will include a mix of classroom discussion, and hands on exercises.

The St. John’s Strike Readiness Summit will be taking place over a 1.5 day period from 9-5 on November 7th and 9-12 on November 8th, 2026 at the ALT Hotel.

Participants who travel more than 100 kilometers to attend the course are entitled to a hotel room. Room bookings will be made via rooming list on behalf of particpants who are eligible. For more information, please refer to the PSAC Atlantic Travel Policy.
