The new definition of ‘hazard’ and other harmful changes to Canada Labour Code rules on health and safety brought about in Bill C-4 came into effect Oct. 31, 2014.

The Federal Government’s Labour Program has also amended two internal policy guidelines (IPG’s) and created two new ones to govern the right to refuse provisions.
Amended are:
- ‘Definition of Danger’ 905-1-IPG-062
- ‘Participation of the Work Place Health and Safety Committee or Representative 935-1-IPG-004
New are:
- ‘Danger as a Normal Condition of Employment’ 905-1-IPG-070
- ‘Complaint is Trivial, Frivolous, Vexatious or Made in Bad Faith’ 905-1-IPG- 083
