Barbecue for UPCE Members

A BBQ was held for our UPCE members who work at the Canada Post Call Centre in Fredericton on Friday, June 25th.

The Employer (Canada Post) refused to let its employees hold the BBQ on their premises which is normally used by all staff. The local refused to be deterred by their employer and asked the Credit Union across the street from Canada Post if they could use their parking lot for their BBQ. The Credit Union was more than happy to accommodate our members which turned out even better as the BBQ on the employer’s premises would have been hidden from the public, whereas our members were very visible to the public from their location.
