Think Public goes to the 2010 Royal St. John’s Regatta

On Wednesday August 4th, PSAC operated a very successful Think Public booth at the Royal St. John’s Regatta.  There was free face painting, balloon animals, Freezies and prize draws.  PSAC Think Public pamphlets were distributed and awareness items in the form of stickers, fans, frisbees and washable tattoos.

The crowd was huge!  The PSAC booth was maintained by summer students Robyn Hollohan (St. John’s) and Matthew Keats (Gander), as well as PSAC Member Gordon Lake.  Also on hand was PSAC Member Ken Anstey who supplied the ice so necessary for use on a VERY warm day!  In addition, Dave Shaw from the PSAC Regional Office (Halifax) dropped by to help, and assisted with dismantling the booth when the day’s festivities were over.  Face-painting and balloon animal services provided by the Wandering Brush were an instant hit!  Many PSAC members as well as the general public dropped by our booth to chat, and line-ups for the face painting were steady all day long.  Winners of prize draws were:  Madonna Hynes, Matthew Tucker, Olivia Young, Wade Tippett and Riley Mercer.  Congrats! …..and a warm thank you to all who helped make the day a huge success!
