To our friends at CUPE NB:
We are sending this letter to reaffirm our support and commitment in your fight for free collective bargaining and a fair contract. In lack of better terms, we are disgusted by the tactics employed by the employer. Ordering workers back to work goes against the ruling made by the Supreme Court of Canada dictates that the right to bargain collectively is protected as an exercise of freedom of association under s. 2(d) of the Charter.
However, it’s empowering to see so much solidarity demonstrated by various unions, community organizations and New Brunswick citizens. To be honest, the last time we recall such public support and solidarity was during the campaign to prevent the sale of NB Power. This speaks volume and it’s a promising sign.
PSAC members have been visiting various picket lines across the province and we have been inundated with pictures and social media post expressing support to your union. We will continue to ask our members to stand by your side and denounce the tactics employed by this right-wing government.
Remember: workers united, will never be defeated!
In solidarity always,

To our friends at CUPE NB:
We are sending this letter of support to remind you that you are not alone in your fight for free collective bargaining and a fair contract. The Public Service Alliance of Canada’s Atlantic Region represents over 22,000 members and you can count on our support.
We have already been active on social media in denouncing the tactics used by the provincial government with the way they are ‘bargaining’. It’s simply disgusting that they would use public funds to attack its own employees.
We know how difficult it can be to deal with an employer that is also a government. It’s not easy but your resilience and dedication will not only pay off for your members, but it will also benefit all workers and New Brunswick citizens.
If there’s anything specific we can do to assist, please do not hesitate to ask. In the meantime, we will continue to amplify your messages using all our communication tools. Your fight is also our fight.
In solidarity always,
