PEI PSAC Women’s Retreat

PSAC women gathered recently at the Inn at the Pier to talk about their role in saving Canada Post, re-thinking child care, stopping Harper’s cuts and contacting the Senate on Bill C 377 as well as have a little fun. Actions on all these issues was achieved.

Guest Speaker J. D. Samuelson spoke and showed her film “Women of Confederation”. We highly recommend this short animated film.

Becka Viau, artist and activist, spoke on Saturday and inspired all with her commitment and wisdom on women’s and human rights issues.

Lori MacKay, President, CUPE PEI Division spoke on EI cuts and changes that affect PEI.

Rhonda Doyle LeBlanc, Regional Council Women’s Rep for the Maritimes, and Angela Decker, National Component RVP and Regional Council Women’s Rep for NF and Labrador were also in attendance.

We viewed The Long Road to Justice Video as well as the PSAC Veterans Video on office closures.

Trivia night and a nature walk provided us with time to network and relax.
