The 5th Annual Book Donation to UPEI Robertson Library and the Provincial Public Library System from the PEI Federation of Labour that was held recently.

Our first "Building Our Union" luncheon was held today at the APM centre in Charlottetown.

Regional Human Rights Committees play an active role in the education of members, employers and communities about human rights issues.  They act as a resource to members on human rights issues, as well as a hub of activism.  These committees are established in accordance with Section 15 of the PSAC Constitution which enables the establishment of regional equity committees representing any of the equity groups, or human rights committees, representing all of the equity groups.   Michelle Neill, Chair

 The PEI Human Rights Committee met September 15th with special guest, Jeannie Baldwin, Regional Executive Vice-President - Atlantic.

National Component Parks Local 90023 held their AGM on September 15th.

Members across the Island received the latest Treasury Board bargaining update today advising of exploratory discussions between PSAC and Treasury Board with the objective of reaching early collective agreements.UVAE National Vice-President, Debi Buell,  distributes the updates to Treasury Board Members outside her workplace.

Our last Think Public luncheon was held on August 24th at the Charlottetown Legion.  This luncheon was held for members working in the downtown core of Charlottetown and was catered by the Legion.

 A  luncheon was held for  the offices of Service Canada, USGE and RCMP in Montague on Wednesday, August 11th.
August 5, 2010 - 4:00am •
A Think Public event was held on Saturday, July 31st at the South Shore Actiplex in Crapaud. This event included face painting, distribution of pamphlets and answering questions on pensions and public services. The “Public Services are Cool” coloring books designed by summer student Racheal Francis, were also distributed and sparked many questions regarding public services. T-shirts and Frisbees were also popular handouts. Hundreds of people attended this event and many of them stopped at our booth.
