The St. John's Area Council held a lunchtime BBQ in Pleasantville yesterday. The event was a huge success !! There were approximately 150 people in attendance over the 2 hour period from 12:00 - 2:00 PM and they collected $100 and 3 boxes of food which was donated to the Community Food Sharing Association.

On Wednesday, June 13th at 5:30PM local time, while our MPs gather in Ottawa for a decisive showdown in Parliament, we’ll rally their home ridings, and communities across Canada, to call for 13 “hero” Conservative MPs to work together and stop the Bill, split it, and start over.

On the Victoria day weekend, Sunday May 20th, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada member Sarah Leonard and her family assisted with the distribution of the flyer regarding the loss of jobs and services in Parks Canada. Sarah and her family were active at both locations, Signal Hill and Cape Spear. Pictured is a family member and a member of the general public."

ST. JOHN’S, NL - Almost sixty Post Doctoral Fellows who work at MemorialUniversitywill form a separate bargaining unit of Lecturers’ Union of MUN (LUMUN), a Directly Chartered Local of the Public Service Alliance of Canada.  Yesterday, the Newfoundlandand Labrador Labour Relations Board counted ballots from a certification vote.

ST. JOHN’S, NL – The Public Service Alliance of Canada with affiliates of the Canadian Labour Congress, the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Labour and the St. John’s and District Labour Council, as well as community partners, will gather Thursday to watch and critique the federal budget.
