June 21 is National Day, a day to recognize and celebrate First Nations, Inuit and Métis people in Canada.  On this day we have many reasons to celebrate and also many reasons to fight.

The St. John's Area Council held a lunchtime BBQ in Pleasantville yesterday. The event was a huge success !! There were approximately 150 people in attendance over the 2 hour period from 12:00 - 2:00 PM and they collected $100 and 3 boxes of food which was donated to the Community Food Sharing Association.

On Wednesday, June 13th at 5:30PM local time, while our MPs gather in Ottawa for a decisive showdown in Parliament, we’ll rally their home ridings, and communities across Canada, to call for 13 “hero” Conservative MPs to work together and stop the Bill, split it, and start over.

Almost 70 members from across the region attended the AtlanticSchoolheld from May 23rd to 27th, 2012in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.

On the Victoria day weekend, Sunday May 20th, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada member Sarah Leonard and her family assisted with the distribution of the flyer regarding the loss of jobs and services in Parks Canada. Sarah and her family were active at both locations, Signal Hill and Cape Spear. Pictured is a family member and a member of the general public."
