Congratulations to the 18 members of UCTE Local 60925, Charlottetown Airport.

UCTE  local 60925 voted to donate $250.00 to Haiti which the employer, “airport authority” matched bringing the total donation to $500.00. This money was given to the Canadian Red Cross which was doubled again by the Government.

Different vigils were held in New Brunswick to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Montreal massacre of 14 young women at the École Polytechnique. New Brunswick MPs are asked to oppose Bill C-391 as statistics show that long-gun homicides in Canada have declined by 50% since the registry was instituted.

Listen to the Nation, no to prorogation! PSAC members from Moncton and Fredericton joined some concerns citizens, various unions, the NBFL and others and braved the cold weather to give a clear message to the Harper government: "Return to work!''  Guest speakers for the Moncton event were Members of Parliament Yvon Godin (NDP) and Brian Murphy (Liberal).

On December 6th, members of the local worked hard to create a float that would go in the Christmas parade in their community. The theme of the float was based around our "Think Public" campaign.  Four of the members on the float were elves making toys, and another four were Santa's helpers who wore t-shirts with the "Think Public" logo on the back.  The local distributed frisbees and bags of Think Public candy to the kids.  The float won third prize with the judges and was voted the viewer's choice float.
