  • Inaugural meeting of the St. John’s PSAC Human Rights Committee (HRC).

    Application from interested members from around St. John’s has been made to the PSAC leadership, to form a Human Rights Committee under the authority of the PSAC Constitution and now’s our time to form-up that Committee at an inaugural meeting !

    In attendance will be your Regional Executive Vice-President (REVP) for the Atlantic Region, Sister Colleen Coffey.

    Please encourage any and all of your members to come out and kick this new Committee into gear.

  • The Atlantic School brings together union activists from the four Atlantic Provinces with a foundation in union education to advance their skills and leadership in strengthening the labour movement.  The school’s in-residence program is tailored to deliver advanced courses in both official languages, while immersing participants in union culture.  This year’s school is called Building it Stronger: a union school for movement builders.  You can find out more about the 2018 Atlantic School theme and the course offerings in the information attached.  

  • This training will equip participants with basic skills to interpret their Collective Agreement & to apply it to their day-to day experience at work. It will then explore 2 major dynamics that influence the     outcomes of the collective bargaining process. Participants will take a critical look at how politics & economics impact their lives & the terms & conditions of their work. They will then discuss strategies for strengthening their agreements through member mobilization & collective action.
