Budget 2024: Promising investments in affordability, but public service cuts concerning

As Canadians grapple with an affordability crisis, the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) welcomes strong support for those most impacted – especially young workers – with major investments in housing, post-secondary education, and a National Food Plan for students. However, PSAC is concerned about the plan to cut 5,000 federal public service jobs through attrition.

RCMP Civilian Members: Take our bargaining survey

PSAC is consulting with RCMP Civilian Members (CM) in order to better represent them as they transition into the federal public service. As part of that broader consultation process, which includes national townhall meetings, PSAC is conducting a survey for CMs who are pay-matched or touch-pointed in the PA, TC, EB and SV classifications and are represented by the Public Service Alliance of Canada and the Union of Safety and Justice Employees.

Strike votes for over 9,000 workers at Canada Border Services Agency begin April 10

April 4, 2024

Members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and the Customs and Immigration Union (CIU) who work at Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will be conducting a strike vote across the country starting April 10, 2024. After almost two years of negotiations, PSAC declared impasse in bargaining in September 2023 after CBSA refused to budge on key issues like wages in line with other law enforcement agencies, better job security, access to telework, and protections from contracting out.
